FAQs
What is Acupressure?
Acupressure is a form of Chinese medicine, being a derivative of acupuncture, and uses the same theory by manipulating the body’s meridian system to rebalance Qi. The main difference with acupressure is that the acupoints are treated using hands, fingers, thumbs, knuckles or elbows instead of the needles used in traditional acupuncture.
Why Acupressure?
The main reason why people may consider having acupressure as opposed to traditional acupuncture is that no piercing of the skin is involved. A fear of needles is extremely common and acupressure offers the same benefits as acupuncture, without the use of needles.
How can Acupressure help me?
Just like acupuncture, acupressure can be used to treat a number of ailments. Acupressure is often used to treat patients who suffer from nausea and vomiting often caused by medical procedures such as chemotherapy, gynaecological surgery and tonsillectomy. It can also help with travel sickness.
